Why are some people more cancer prone than others?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Certain patients are more likely to get cancers than others. It is well known that there are certain genetic symdromes such as neurofibromatosis or li-fraumeni that lead to an increased incidence of brain tumors. Women who have a blood relative with breast cancer are at increased risk. Furthermore, a strong history of polyposis of the colon leads to an increased risk and thus more screenings.
