Oral Contraception: Oral contraception is extremely effective when taken correctly but is not 100% protective. Drinking alcohol and other factors can affect the effectiveness of birth control. If you are ever in doubt, you can take a pregnancy test, and discuss any concerns with your doctor. Remember, taking birth control does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases.

Oral contraceptives: Taken as directed, oral contraceptives are very effective at preventing unwanted pregnancy. You would be protected continuously. However, oral contraceptives do not protect you against STDs. Please practice safe sex. STDs can damage your body.
