A member asked:

Is a brain scan only ordered to determine a brain tumour? scared now as this has been suggested.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Brain scan ordered to evaluate conditions such a sudden stroke, the possibility of developing multiple sclerosis defining specific brain lesions, checking for early onset of Parkinsons disease and numerous other neurologic conditions unrelated to tumor. Defining a malignant primary or metastatic lesion of visceral origin is also an important use.
