A member asked:

My 5 year old has begun not making it to the bathroom and peeing himself is it perhaps because he's just holding it to long or should i worry he's 5?

Check urine: Any daytime or night time enuresis warrants attention in a previously potty trained child. A quick evaluation can rule out diabetes, which can present exactly this way. Is he thirsty? Is he drinking more than usual? Has he wet the bed? If urine test ok, kids can have this problem as a behavioral issue, set a timer for regular voiding, so he doesn't wait too long.
