Ckd anemic patient alk phosphatase went up from 99 to 130 and intact pth is abnormal (125). doctor has me on 5000 iu a day vitamin d3, should i check serum vit d and phosphorus levels? took 40000 units of procrit but rbc not improving ~3.3, hbg 8.7

Find a better DR: You need a precise diagnosis. Reason for procrit (epoetin alfa)??? 5000 u Vit D daily is far too much. Kidney or bone marrow disease? " Anemia" is a symptom, not a diagnosis.
