Itchyness (pruritus): Pruritus is a common disorder that affects the skin. Common causes include dermatitis and dry skin. In the absence of visible lesions pruritus might be secondary to underlying systemic disorders including cholestasis due to impaired secretion of bile. It typically begins with an acral distribution involving the palms and soles. Associated conditions include liver disease, also common in pregnancy.
