For young infants, : put a cool must humidifier across the room up to a maximum of 50% humidity, because, in theory, you could overload them with water if it's too close. I guess that's probably 7-9 feet in most bedrooms. Keep the humidifier & its cord up where a 6-month-old & older can't pull it over. Run it with a 10% Clorox solution to clean it when baby's not in the room, followed by a cycle of fresh water.
