Per Feed: 4-5 ounces every 3-4 hours, is the average. Congrats on your newborn.

It depends on their: size/weight and gender. For an average 9 1/2 lb, 5 week old girl, it would be about 4-5 oz every 4 hours. If they eat more often, it could be less. There are, however, normal variations and babies have times when they eat more while they're going through a growth spurt. Please discuss this with your baby's doctor.

Depends: It depends if you are talking great milk or formula. It is a little different as breast milk changes with time to adjust what the child gets. Usually at 5 weeks a baby will take about 3 to 4 ozs of breast milk. A rule of thumb is 1 to 1.25 oz per hour. Formula can vary and of course depends if on breast milk also and the size. But for formula it is usually 2oz to 3.5 oz per feeding. Hope helped.

Most 4-5-week-olds: take 4 oz. of formula/feed, then ^ that amt. by 1 oz./mo. till they reach a max of 7-8 oz./feed. Respect your baby's cues for hunger & satiety to avoid over-feeding. She'll consolidate sleep between 2-4 mos. if you establish a regular bedtime.Feed her, wipe out her mouth with a soft cloth, read, rock & put her on in her crib in her own room when drowsy, but awake, to learn to self-calm to sleep.
