Miscarriage: Uptrending hCG levels do not suggest a nonviable pregnancy. Cardiac activity can be seen at 5 weeks. Intrauterine pregnancies can be confirmed with a vaginal ultrasound. hCG is low yield once intrauterine pregnancy is confirmed.
