Withdrawal bleeding: I'm not familiar with "merpate" as a prescribed medication in my country, however, my BEST GUESS is that it is a type of progesterone, a hormone produced just before menses begins. If the uterus doesn't bleed after 5 days of progesterone, sometimes more tests, such as blood tests and/or sonogram, are needed. If the patient is known to the health care provider, a priming dose of estrogen can help
