Doubt herpes, but...: This is not likely to be herpes, which generally does not cause sores in hairy areas, especially with the intitial HSV infection. And herpes rarely causes a "big raised bump" anywhere. I'm betting on pimples or folliculitis. But if you remain concerned, or if herpes seems possible because you are at risk for STD (e.g. new or unsafe partner), see a doctor or clinic. Better safe than sorry!
