It depends...: It depends on many things such as how big the cyst is, what it looks like on ultrasound, and your doctor's diagnosis. Part of being pregnant, is the formation of a cyst on one ovary called the corpus luteum cyst. This structure supports the pregnancy by producing Progesterone until the placenta takes over this function around 8 weeks. Surgery is only recommended in rare circumstances.
