Ouch!: The vulva is not a spot that is conducive to public scratching or is endured with patience. Obviously, the vulva is reacting to your menstrual flow, pads, or harsh soaps in the area. Eliminate the soaps, douches, and prolonged use of "medicated" mini or maxi pads(including panty liners) and if this continues see a GYN MD for causes.

Phlebitis & others: Pain and inflammation of the leg veins is called phlebitis. When this occurs it can be painful to the touch. The worrisome condition for which you need to get checked is a blood clot (deep venous thrombosis, dvt). This can be checked with a duplex ultrasound of your leg veins to make sure there is flow that is not blocked by a clot in your vein. There are many reasons for swelling so get checked!

See an eye doctor: Swelling and pain around the eye may be caused by an infection. If left untreated, it can potentially get into the eye socket and even the brain. Your aunt should be evaluated by an eye doctor immediately.

It depends: Each test is different. Most tests show two bars as positive. The package will tell you the best time to take a test. Typically mid void first thing in the morning. The closer to the time of expected next period is best.
