Not unusual: One of the known side effects of hormonal birth control is possible irregular bleeding. You have a choice of stopping the pills for about 4 days and restart with a new pack or you can double up on the pills for the next four days. I would recommend you get an STD test as sudden, unusual bleeding while on the pill is associated with chlamydia.
