Plan B: Yes. It is called ' plan b' because you should really have a plan a which is a consistent and reliable means of contraception and a plan b comes in to play when plan a does not work.

A question of faith?: I've seen one with my own eyes, so it doesn't take much of a leap of faith unless I were a nihilist. But more seriously, yes, overwhelming evidence is available that shows Plan B to be a very effective method of emergency contraception when taken within 3 days of intercourse (even up to 5 but less studied that far out). It reduces chance of pregnancy nearly ten-fold but is not 100% effective.
