Through gland ducts: MRSA can enter the sweat gland by following the sweat gland duct, even though the duct can (later) get plugged. This allows a "swimming pool" to form, where the MRSA plays. If draining "the pool" is incomplete, MRSA can still stick around. Antibiotics (topical or oral) are usually given in this situation. But the key is that MRSA can get in despite or prior to a blocked duct. TTYD / surgeon.
