Hemorrhoids, yes!: Hemorrhoids are varicose veins that occur either external to the anal canal, within the anal canal, or even up inside the rectum. External hemorrhoids can have that purple, grape-like appearance you have described. They may tear and bleed. They may be very painful and burn. The way you are describing them, I would seek medical attention
