Cholesterol: High cholesterol is not just related to weight and exercise. There are genetic factors as well. Being overweight and not exercising can certainly make these numbers worse. Since this disease has no symptoms but leads to serious issues I would use what medication my doctor prescribed.

In the family?: Sometimes there's a genetic tendency towards hi cholesterol. You can minimize the impact of genetics on yourself as an individual through proper diet and regular exercise, but the genetic tendency will always be there, so your numbers may be a little off despite your best individual effort. This makes your diet and exercise plan even more important.
