Yes: You describe the linea nigra or "black line" in the middle of the abdomen running upward or downward (or both) from the belly button. Yes, since you take birth control pills which raise your hormone levels, much like pregnancy does, it can cause the skin darkening. If not, you may be secreting abnormal levels of hormones from your adrenal gland and will need to have it checked.
