Not to worry: mid cycle spotting is fairly common on the pill. Without knowing which pill or how long you've taken it my guess is that it may require a slightly stronger dose of estrogen. But if this is only a rare occurrence I wouldn't be concerned.

Pill and bleeding : Bleeding around mid cycle can occur and it can indicate need to change pill especially if occurring regularly. If someone misses pill that can also cause bleeding in between or early .
