It almost never is.: neuroleptic malignant syndrome is really serious! It is uncontrolled locking up of the muscles. They often die off with this. And, if the muscle dies off, that certainly can lower muscle strength. generally it comes back. Might require exercise to build them back up. But it shouldn't affect movement even if muscle is lost.
