A member asked:

Gave & received protected oral. did water check & condom was intact. do not know if the person whom i gave bj had latex. hiv chance in both scenario?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: In general oral sex has a low rate of transmission of HIV. However, an open or bleeding sore of the mouth or genitals would increase the risk. Condom use is however advised. Don't forget you can get HPV and gonorrhea of the throat from oral sex, not to mention spreading herpes.
