Viral pharyngitis: is the white spot like an ulcer. Like a canker sore and hurts? Sometimes viruses can cause painful tonsils. See your Primary care doctor or an ENT and they can try to sort this out for you. Take Motrin for the pain 400 to 600 mgs 3 x a day. Good luck and feel better!
