A member asked:

Last night i was constipated, so i took a laxative. it worked, but now i'm constipated again. what should i do?

Good bowel regimen: Long term laxative use is not recommended . The goal is to have consistent bowel movements without having to rely on laxatives . You can begin by taking miralax (polyethylene glycol) twice daily , once you begin having consistent bowel movements you can taper off to once daily or as needed . The goal would be to aim for soft bowel movements that do not require straining
