Need more info: Eating the wrong foods (high calorie), not exercising and having an endocrine (thyroid) problem and lastly a genetic predisposition to be overweight are in the mix so to speak as to why you are having a weight problem. Your best bet is to consult with your family physician who will run some tests and perhaps refer you to a dietitian.

Strength Training : Have you tried resistance training with weight machines, dumb bells, or stretch bands? Toning and strengthening muscles could be the missing link. Check out your local gyms. Good nutrition sometimes isn't enough. Along with strength training, cut your carbs to 120 grams per day, about 30 grams per main meal with some healthy snacks. Also need 25 to 30 grams of protein in your main meals.
