Reflux: Acid reflux that is not adequately controlled can cause sore throat, hoarseness and cough. I would recommend getting treated for the GERD and seeing how your symptoms go after 4-6 weeks.

Need rx for reflux &: You have acid reflux and shortness of breath.you need to be evaluated by your doctor and need to be treated appropriately for your acid reflux.with lifestyle modifications like loose weight if obese,eat dinner at least 3 hours before bed,elevate head of the bed while sleeping and may need acid suppression therapy with H2 blockers orPPIs. If still short of breath needs further evaluation for asthma
