However, it would be very wise of you to get both the cat and puppy (when old enough according to the vet) vaccinated for rabies and maintain that vaccine as recommended (rabies is devastating to them too). The puppy nipping at you is not likely to give you rabies. You don't need to be vaccinated unless you're bit by an unknown animal.
