Palpitations: Palpitations, whether related to your period or not, need to be evaluated promptly. See your doc ASAP When you are experiencing them, if you are dizzy, short of breath, have chest tightness or nausea call 911. Sometimes an EKG when you are having them can tell what type they are. Stop caffeine, alcohol, otc meds, herbs and supplements you are taking that your doctor does not know about.

PMS?: Palpitations are feelings that your heart is skipping a beat, fluttering, or beating too hard or fast. You may have these feelings in your chest, throat, or neck. Palpitations may seem alarming, but in most cases they're harmless and are not a sign of a problem with your heart. Many things can trigger palpitations including hormonal changes of PMS. Discuss with your MD to be sure yours is benign.
