Not an easy answer: Radiation comes in many forms, we use different delivery for different types of tumors. Technologically, radiation oncology is a rapidly advancing field and newer treatment modalities such as proton beam are exciting, but should be viewed in context. Not every tumor situation needs to be treated with the "most advanced" type of radiation. In fact in some cases it can be harmful if used wrong.

Many Types: There is not really a single "most advanced"type of radiation therapy. There are many advanced technologies each of which has some advantages and disadvantages. Often these differences are so minimal that they have little it no impact for an individual patient. Speaking with a qualified radiation oncologist is the best way to determine the most appropriate treatment options.
