Oil and facial skin: I would suggest an oil-free non-comedogenic moisturizer if retin a (tretinoin) is too drying for your skin. Better yet, decrease the concentration and/or frequency of applications of retin a (tretinoin) until your skin gets used to it. Oils applied to the skin will make you more likely to break out which may lead to additional scarring.

Bio oil vs moisturiz: Bio oil not only helps with scarring but apparently is a good moisturizer; so using it over the Retin-A should be ok. If u develop more irritation from the combination, switch to a regular moisturizer. Ask your dermatologist about the combination.

Use a moisturizer.: Generic "oil of olay" works well, is not greasy, and will prevent Retin-A burn. It will not clog pores!

Bio -oil and retin a (tretinoin): Not suggested to use oils on top of Retin-A since that could cause the retin a (tretinoin) to seep into the eyes or to mouth corners where it can be very irritating. The doctor who prescribed the retin a (tretinoin) can give you the best advice on using additional topical products.
