Musculoskeletal: If no recent trauma and no concern about fracture, I would start with some over the counter Tylenol, (acetaminophen) if that doesn't help, try some over the counter ibuprofen 600mg by mouth every 6 hours as needed (that is three 200mg pills) take this with food, and this is of course assuming you do not have any kidney problems. If you do, do not do the Ibuprofen until you see your primary care provider

Depends.: If the pain is new and severe, or you have fever, shortness of breath, numbness, tingling, weakness, or other serious symptoms, then get seen sooner. If you have had this pain for months, and it has not gotten worse, then waiting for 2 weeks is not unreasonable. You must judge or call the doctor's office again, and ask them once more. We don't know enough about your general health and symptoms.
