Ans: During a night's sleep we can't control position of our head, jaw etc. We move around with great individual variation, so positioning to 'keep airway open' sounds tricky at best. If you have a particular concern, eg, snoring, sleep apea, etc, best to be evaluated by your pcp who can refer you to a sleep specialist if necessary. See: http://www.nichd.nih.gov/health/topics/sleep/conditioninfo/pages/sleep-disorders.aspx I hope this helps.
