Premenstrual: dysphoric disorder can be treated with anti-inflammatory medications taken the day before or the day of menstrual flow. Ibuprofen 400 mg 2-3 times daily for 3-4 days usually helps, as does Aleve (naproxen) 1-2 times daily. PMDD can affect young women as well as older ones. Pain in left ovary is concerning and will likely need pelvic ultrasound to diagnose. See a GYN or family physician right away.
