Cranberry doesn't: Cranberries have hippuric acid which can prevent bacteria from sticking to the lining of the bladder. They do not treat bladder infections, nor do they prevent yeast infections. If you take them drink plenty of water to prevent kidney stones from developing from the oxalate content. Risk is higher with the pills vs fruit or juice. Probiotics, yogurt may prevent yeast infection.
