Try Prep H: External hemorrhoids can be treated with over the counter Preparation H or Anusol--they have steroid that help shrink the size of the hemorrhoid. Use an over the counter stool softener so you're not straining so hard, and eat lots of fruits and vegetables to keep your stool soft. It can get bigger and get thrombosed (when a blood clot forms in the hemorrhoid). See a doctor for bleeding, pain, etc
