What is cause?: If the prostatitis is as a result of infection than antibiotics are indicated. Consult with your doctor for treatment options.

Family practice : It is inflammation of the prostate. It could be infectious. Possibly std. But can be from sitting a lot. Common with bikers and truck drivers.

Prostatitis: Can be sometimes caused by urinary obstruction , straining or std. It can be treated with nsaids and antibiotics. Consult your physician for diagnosis and treatment.

Antibiotics: Most forms of prostititis are easily treated with antibiotics. Untreated chronic prostititis could interfere with fertility.
