Yes.....: with PAGET's disease, a painful condition in which inflammation in the bone softens it, the shape changes. Especially skull. This is a reason for evaluation. It can cause weakened bones. It is VERY easily treated. Other causes of thin bones like lack of vitamin D, calcium, bone infection, bone tumor, abnormality of the hormones controlling mineral level are also possible and treatable.
