A bad thing: white cells (and inflammation) in the urine, that does not grow germs and hence, is not easy to cure. Can be from autoimmune disease, trauma, stones, maybe tumor. MOSTLY, trauma/stones and tumor would have blood too..autoimmune (interstitial cystitis) does NOT have blood too.

Sterile pyuria: It indicates that you have white blood cells in your urine but the sample didn't grow any bacteria. Your doctor may think of other causes or repeat your urine to confirm this. All the best.
