?palpitations: ORaymond ~ the first thing to do is confirm the palpitations, so please go see the doc to get a resting EKG. If normal you will need an overnight Holter test and if that normal and event monitor where you trigger the machine to do an ECG when you have the sensation you call palpitations and that will give diagnosis most of time.Start there. thanks

Not normal: If you had palpitations WITHOUT lightheadedness, maybe watch and wait. You need an EKG right away to make sure there is nothing seriously wrong. You should probably have an EVENT RECORDER provided by a cardiologist or primary MD. You should possibly get an echocardiogram to make sure your heart structure is normal. You might have a common non- life-threatening arrythmia, but FIND OUT- be well!
