Each STD different: Testing for gonorrhea and chlamydia (vaginal swab or urine) is reliable any time after 4-5 days. Syphilis 6 weeks. HIV 4-12 weeks, depending on the exact test(s) done. HSV (for genital herpes) up to 16 weeks, but HSV testing usually isn't recommended after a single exposure and no symptoms. Best not to self test via a lab; and proper STD testing also requires vaginal exam and office tests. See MD.
