I smashed my thumb in a window a week ago, the tip of it is still numb. should i see my doctor or wait it out?

Permanent injury: to a thumb joint can sever the nerve to the tip. But there is usually no treatment for loss of nerve distribution to a finger. If your thumb joints are moveable and pain/swelling free, I would not be too concerned. Continue to stimulate it and hopefully the feeling will come back.
