Could be normal but: see your surgeon to make sure. What is the color of the discharge? What kind of bits- like blood clots, tissue, stool? A small amount of mucous can be normal after fistulotomy. Make sure you keep the area clean, do sitz baths, and avoid constipation at all costs. Use stool softeners, eat a high fiber diet, and drink plenty of water. Good luck!
