Neuralgia: is a condition where there is inflammation of a local nerve on top of the scalp. This inflammation can be sharp, but constant dull pain can be caused by similar process in a more minor branch of the same nerve. The scalp tenderness is classic for this kind of pain. Please visit a pain specialist or family physician for treatment of neuralgia.
