I don't take my birth control at the same time every day and my boyfriend and i don't always use condoms. what is my actual risk of getting pregnant? i've been on the pill for two years now but not the same brand.

Contraception: The most important thing for contraception is consistency. It's good that you are using condoms. You need to use them 100% of the time to prevent getting an infection. Why would you expose yourself to anyone's bodily fluids? Ever? I think this is more important than the contraception. You are at risk for acquiring an STD every time you have unprotected sex.

Probably not an issu: As long as you are not using a progesterone only birth control (the "minipill") this generally not a problem. The reality is that at certain times of the month you can even miss a pill without risk of pregnancy (but only certain times so don't try it). It is best to take them every day at the same time though. If you are on a minipill then all bets are off, you have to take them at the same tim
