Needs doctor evaluat: If this is a chronic problem he should be seen by his doctor and possibly a pediatric gi specialist as he may have a congenital issue. Otherwise constipation is fairly common in kids. Miralax (polyethylene glycol) is a good stool softener used in children as well as adults if no other explanation can be found for his constipation.
