A member asked:

Can i take dayquil/nyquil while breastfeeding?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably not: these are multi ingredient drugs. The Tylenol (acetaminophen) in them is safe. The cough suppressant has never been studied in breastfeeding and should not be considered safe. The decongestant in there does not enter breastmilk very much and might be safe, but could decrease your milk supply. Also, Nyquil has a decent amount of alcohol, which may or may not be safe. Overall, I would stay away from them.
