Compression: Since your symptoms are related to a position (lying down, sleeping) it is probably a compression neuropathy. This is probably due to the Sciatic nerve (it runs from your gluets down the back of your legs) being pinched while you were laying down. People typically refer to their foot or leg "falling asleep".
