Used Correctly, none: There is no evidence that current psychiatric medications cause brain damage when used appropriately. Used in excessive dosage or in wrong combinations, there is secondary risk from cardiac malfunction or stroke. However, some of the illnesses for which psychiatric meds are rx'd can provoke permanent changes in emotional perception, thinking, and/or mood. You might look there for your answer.

No longer the med: At this point, the effects of the medication are long gone. Any changes in your brain would be related to the psychiatric illness itself, which does change the brain. This actually is why effective, monitored medication management is so important; it limits the brain changes that result from psychiatric brain illness. Talk with your doctor.
