Polycystic ovaries: are the same thing and it just means that your ovaries contain, or can develop over time, fluid filled sacs. They can be painful if there is much fluid, and rarely they could become very painful if they leak. Lots of women have them and experience no problems. Some have enough problems that they need them removed, especially if tests show them to be unusual.
