A good history and physical exam can help rule out anything serious such as cardiac disease and the doctor can advise as to pain treatment. Sharp chest pain above left breast when i was sleeping on my back. I woke up with fast heart beat while trying to grab my chest.Then fell back asleep.
Last night I woke up with a severe pain in my upper right side of my back, tight chest, sharp pain in chest when inhaling. I had to sit up to relieve the pain. Finally fell asleep by lying on my left side with head up. I am currently on Coveram 5/10.
How can I sleep? I had a PE and any pressure on my chest or back makes me cough and choke on mucus so I can't lie on bed or sit back on chair.
